In the heart of Boril, Dagobert Hugues lives with his family of twelve, struggling to meet their basic needs. Their situation began to improve when they received a donation from the Baptist World Alliance, enabling them to plant rice. With determination, the family cultivated their land, carefully tending the crops through the seasons. The resulting harvest not only provided vital food but also allowed Dagobert to pay school fees for his children, making education—and the hope of a brighter future—possible.
This agricultural project in Haiti was launched by 52 self-help groups in response to ongoing food insecurity following the 2010 earthquake. It aims to improve agricultural productivity and livestock profitability through farmer training, capacity building, targeted investments, and strong project coordination and management.
